This Is The Real Deal
You're not going to get suckered. I came across these freebies over 2 years ago, but I thought they were fake... I sure do regret that now.
On doing some research, I found a few major news outlets covering this phenomenon. Most were doing stories on iPods, but obviously the same logic applies to other freebies as well. The premise is easy to follow. The freebie site sets up the website and the freebie to give away. They then tell other sites (the sponsors) that they can send them a lot of potential new business for a fee. When you sign up for one of the offers, the business pays the freebie site a bounty, and after enough of those bounties from you and your friends, it covers the cost of your freebie.
